Still Here

Don't give up me y'all! I know I know it's been a while since my last post and I need to start posting regularly again.

I have so much to talk about...really - LOTS - it's just finding the time to share it all.

But, life is happening right now and it is busy, which is good. I am busy with candle shows and gearing up for the Christmas season as we all are.

But, my blog has been on my mind. I hope you've missed me...(wink)

I'll be back very soon so keep checking!

The B-I-B-L-E

I was reading my Bible yesterday morning and E squatted by the chair and said, "Mommy, weed to me bout Daniel!"

I asked her what she knew about Daniel and who he was.

And she said, "da lions...ROAR!!"

Yea - she does listen in Sunday School! We are off to a great start folks!

"They got him. Da lions got 'im." Okay, so she kinda got the main part of the story wrong. They didn't get him. But, she knew who he was!

This mommy won't be picky just yet.

The Cup or the Coffee?

I received the following story in an email today and I just had to share it because it is so very true. Please feel free to share your thoughts.

A group of alumni, all highly established in their respective careers, got together for a visit with their old university professor. The conversation soon turned to complaints about the endless stress of work and life in general.Offering his guests coffee, the professor went into the kitchen and soon returned with a large pot of coffee and an eclectic assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal - some plain, some expensive, some quite exquisite. Quietly he told them to help themselves to some fresh coffee. When each of his former students had a cup of coffee in hand, the old professor quietly cleared his throat and began to patiently address th e small gathering. ''You may have noticed that all of the nicer looking cups were taken up first, leaving behind the plainer and cheaper ones. While it is only natural for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is actually the source of much of your stress-related problems." He continued. "Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In fact, the cup merely disguises or dresses up what we drink. What each of you really wanted was coffee, not a cup, but you instinctively went for the best cups. Then you began eyeing each other's cups.'' ''Now consider this: Life is coffee. Jobs, money, and position in society are merely cups. They are just tools to shape and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not truly define nor change the quality of the Life we live. Often, by concentrating only on the cup,we fail to enjoy the coffee that God has provided us. God brews the coffee, but he does not supply the cups. Enjoy your coffee!'' The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything. So please remember: Live simply. Love generously. Care Deeply. Speak Kindly. Leave the Rest to God. And remember - the richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.

"Lord, let me focus on the coffee and not the cups ~ not the "things" of this world: the best of this and the best of that...But, to focus on this life in which you have blessed me with! Regardless of what avenues you take to get my blessings to me, the fact is that you have brewed me up a Life of really great coffee! Help me to sit back and relax while I enjoy the coffee you've provided. But, most importantly, help me Leave the Rest to You! Who needs the fancy "cups" when I've already got the Maker?!!"
