A Summer Book Giveaway!!

I love these giveaways because I get to meet so many new people...like you!

Gretchen over at Jewels in My Crown...Someday is hosting this book giveaway and so I decided to participate!

Here is what I will be giving away:
Hadassah, One Night With the King
(the story of Esther)
This is a wonderful book!
"A gripping action-adventure story full of political intrigue and suspense, with a brand-new perspective on a historical figure you may think you already know!"
"Both a palace thriller and a Jewish Woman's Memoir, Hadassah brings the age-old story of Esther to life. This historically accurate novel layered with fresh insights provides a fascinating twist on a pivotal time in religious history, and readers will find it bursting with page-turning drama."

Have you seen the movie? If not, see it! But, this book will take you deeper than the movie. Tommy Tenney's writing has a way of making you feel you are there. I love it.
I know you will too!
All you have to do is leave a comment with your name and a way to reach you. You do not have to have a blog to enter. But, if you do not have a blog, please please make sure I can reach you!!
The drawing will be open until Monday, June 30th, when I will announce the winner. (chosen by random.org)
Also, you can visit the above link to enter for other great summer reads.
Have fun!

You truly are the best and I love you very much!!
Here's to another ____ years - well, remember what I said the other day? Still don't wanna do that! :c)

I love you.

Wordless Wednesday (almost)

"Train up a child in the way 'she' should go and when 'she' is old, 'she' won't depart from it."
I think her granddaddy already has the ball rollin' don't you?

Uh-Oh! Moments

We start teaching those words to babies at a very small age. As most parents begin to do, when E was just a brand new baby, we started saying, "Uh-Oh!" about all sorts of things.

When we dropped something, when we spilled something, forgot about something, etc.

Now she knows exactly when to say it. Oh and when she does, I go running. I want to run the opposite direction out of fear of what I will find, but I know it's usually something that needs immediate attention.

It doesn't matter what I am in the middle of - and it doesn't matter how soft or loud she says it.
Sometimes I feel that she could whisper it, "uh oh!" and it travels down the hall and through the air to my ears in mommy-speed.

This happened this morning and as I was thinking about how much I dread hearing those two words, the thought crossed my mind...

This can really be compared to how our Heavenly Father feels when we are caught in an "Uh-Oh!" moment. He doesn't dread hearing those words like we do. He longs for us to say them. "Uh-Oh!" usually means that Emma is in a mess of some sorts...something is broken, she got dirty, she fell, etc. and that sound automatically gets my attention and brings me running to help.

How many "Uh-Oh!" situations do we find ourselves in - usually our fault - and instead of calling for His help, we drown in our own sorrow or we try to fix things by ourself? Big mistake!

If E tries to fix her own mess, (while I appreciate her trying) she will most assuredly make a bigger mess than there was to begin with OR she prolongs it...when mommy may have known what to do to get her out of it.

He sees the BIG picture; He created you; "He's got the whole world in His hands!" so I think He knows how to help.

Call Him. It can be a whisper and I promise He WILL hear and He WILL come running! From your mouth to God's ears.

"Uh-Oh!"

Not Na-ow? Already?

Oh no! Please don't tell me she has already reached the age of not taking naps. I hear of kids older than her that still nap everyday. She needs her nap...I need her nap! That is my time - my quiet time. Time where I am "Stacey - in my right mind" and not Mommy, Mommy for 2 whole hours! 2 hours out of about 15 hours each day.

It's nice.

But, not today. Today, there is that broken record that keeps on keepin' on with the questions and "mommy" calling and jibber-jabber that just.is.not.stopping!

"Mommy?! You dayer?" "Mommy, can I get up na-ow?" "Hey, Mommy - I said Mommy!"

"Is it time to get up na-ow?" "Can I wake up?" (she never went to sleep)

"I need you mommy. I need see you for a minute." "Oh Mommy! I only want see you!" "Can I get up na-ow?" "How 'bout na-ow?" "Just a moment?!" (where did she learn what a 'moment' was?)

If she only knew that 26 years from now, she could possibly be blogging about her toddler biting everyone in the nursery; why in the world her daughter won't take that nap that she wishes she could take; when her little boy is going to quit picking his nose and wiping it on Aunt Edna; and when her husband will get home from work so that she can lock herself in the bathroom, pantry, or closet for just 5 quiet minutes!!!...then, maybe she would just enjoy it while she can and take that little refreshing nap that she is so gonna miss. Actually, by then, her 3 year old will probably be blogging about her.

**By the way, my daughter has never bitten anyone, she doesn't have a nose-pickin' problem, nor does she have an Aunt Edna. But, that closet sounds pretty good right now.**

The latest - "Mommy, is it time yet? I weally like you." How can I turn that down? While there may not be any hope for a nap today, there is still a gorgeous afternoon waiting to be explored.

Afternoon: here we come.

Happy Birthday Puddin'

I can hardly believe that it has been 3 whole years already! My how you are growing E! Are you sure you are only 3 today? You act 13!

You are amazing, wonderful, special and truly...truly the light of our lives. We often try to remember life before you and we can't. Because it was empty - until Jesus blessed us with your little life.

For years, I would stare off into space and dream about the day when I had a little girl to call me "mommy" and to love. Praise God that dream came true and time is flying.

Every day that passes is such a blessing and such a gift and I pray that I never take you for granted. I love you E and I pray the mighty blessing and favor of God over your life now and always. May His hand be on you with every step you take and may you never step out from under the shelter of His Almighty wings. God is already using you, even at the small age of 3 and I pray that you will always follow His direction for your life. It won't be easy, but it will be well worth it. Enjoy the journey baby - enjoy the "dance."
I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance,
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

Happy, Happy Birthday to our sweet, sweet girl!
You are loved so much more than you'll ever know!

Don't worry

FORERUNNER

Hebrews 6:20

God is your Forerunner.

~~~~~
You don't have to worry about what's ahead.
He goes out before you.
Don't be anxious about the day.
He is in front of you and beside you.
He follows behind to protect you.
Work Ethics
E: "Gib me shugars mommy. I goin' to work now."
Me: "Okay baby. Have a great day. I love you."
E: "I got get my work hat on."
Me: "So where is it that you work again? What is it called?"
E: "Uuuummmm. It called Liberty Heart."
Me: "What kind of job is it? What kind of work do you do there?"
E: "It over toy-ees." "I gonna be late. Gotta go." "Awwh - day cosed now."
Me: "Oh no E! You missed work today? Do you think they are gonna fire you for not coming in?"
E: (very strange look as she tries to figure out what fire has to do with this conversation.) "Nah cuz' I juss don't feel like gowin'. I seepy today."
This is when her daddy interupts with a great big laugh...at which point I'm sure he's thinking he wishes his job were like the jobs at Liberty Heart. You know - where they are over 'toy-ees'.
Weekend Rundown...or Run Over
1. Woke up very early to beat everyone else in town to the local Honda dealer. Not like it is that much of a popular place, but the car we wanted is extremely limited.
2. Fought tooth and nail for the deal we felt we deserved. They felt otherwise, but...I W.O.N. and that is all that matters. (smile)
3. E fell and got her worst boo-boo yet on the "chalk-walk" - better known to you and I as the sidewalk.
4. In reference to #3, we discovered that we have a little drama queen and were amazed that at 3 years old, they already know how to "milk" things. "Carry me. I can't walk."
5. Mid-afternoon movie of "The Rat Movie" ~ "Alvin & the Chipmunks" was too hard for E to remember. She just knew they looked like rats.
6. Dinner with some friends, then strawberry cheesecake, followed by a Botox Song ~ Don't Ask!
7. Late-night visit from Johnny Ringo, Doc Holiday & Wyatt Earp. Hmmm
8. Sunday morning - great worship & much needed. Dynamic message on kindness - ha! - much needed. Maybe I should have heard that message before tackling #2 you think?
9. 2 hour Sunday nap, followed up by a quick visit from family.
10. Last thing on the "rundown" was a goodbye...farewell...to some of the best friends anybody could ask for. Hoping for a happier ending to next weekend.
But Oh! Did I mention we got a new car? :c)
